The purpose here is not to duplicate the original image, from the Library of Congress website, but to generate a downloadable animated gif to assist viewing and presentation.
The library of congress offers a multitude of historical images online, many needing no license to redistribute. The original Matson collection stereoview is titled Assuan and Philae. Birth house in Temple of Isis, Philae.. The approximate date of capture is 1900-1920. At this time the the original island location of the temple complex was inundated several months of the year because of the Aswan low dam, completed in 1902. The temple seems designed to take advantage of its latitude, near the Tropic of Cancer, by skillfully maximizing shadows at the summer solstice to heighten contrast between the walls and all surrounding stonework. Victoria & Albert Museum - Decode: Digital Design Sensations. "Lasers and sensors were used to create a 3D data 'music video' for the band Radiohead. The project was launched as an Open Source project on Google Code. An interactive online viewer allows for 3D investigation of the data online." Basically, we could move the music video images around on the screen with our fingertips.
